About Me
July 21, 2008
I’m a twentysomething college student at a big university in a Deep South small town. I’m a vegetarian, a supporter of local farms, and a hopeless idealist who wants to save the world. Or at least feed it tasty, healthful things.
August of 2008 marks the end of my first year living on my own, in my own apartment, with my own kitchen, and I’ve spent a good portion of the last year trying to recreate the magic in my mother’s kitchen. After some fumbling around, I think I’m finally getting it. Maybe it’s genetics. Maybe the kitchen spirits have decided I’m a good kid. Or maybe it’s just sheer will. But my cooking is getting better (on average, at least), and I want to record this evolution because my culinary whims and food instincts are getting to be a real fun ride.
